Location-Based Service Terms

Last updated: September 28, 2026

These terms define rights, obligations, and responsibilities between members who use location features and the operator of Marry Mee (the “Company”). They apply together with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

If you tap or click “Agree”, or if you continue after enabling location, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms.

1. Effect and changes

  1. This agreement becomes effective when we register you as a user of location features or when you agree to these terms.
  2. We may amend these terms to follow applicable location-information, consumer, and electronic-commerce laws.
  3. If we amend the terms, we will post the change with the effective date and reason. Material changes that are less favorable to you will be announced at least 30 days in advance on the Service and, where we have a working email, by email.
  4. If you do not object within 7 days after a posted change, we may treat that as acceptance. If you do not agree, we may stop providing location features or terminate the related contract.

2. Contents of the location service

Marry Mee may use location information to provide:

  1. Discovery of other members near you, using distance filters you set.
  2. Matching and browsing by languages, nationalities, and other profile criteria, together with distance.
  3. City and country labels on profiles, produced from coordinates you share and reverse geocoding.
  4. Premium Passport, which lets you browse members around a city you choose for a limited time.
  5. Chat and other core features that sit alongside discovery.

Location is stored on your account as coordinates and as derived city and country text so discovery can work when you return. It is not used only in memory and then discarded.

3. Service fee

  1. Location-based discovery is included in the Service. Some related features (including Passport) require a paid plan.
  2. Cancellation and refund of paid features follow the Terms of Service and the rules of Stripe, Apple, or Google, as applicable.
  3. Data or roaming charges from your carrier are your responsibility.

4. Notice of service changes

If we change or discontinue location features, we may notify you by email at the address on your account and by a notice on the website or in the app.

5. Limit and termination of the service

We may limit or stop location features if:

  1. You intentionally interfere with the Service or are grossly negligent.
  2. We need to inspect or repair systems.
  3. A telecommunications or mapping provider we rely on stops its service.
  4. A national emergency, equipment failure, or congestion makes the Service difficult to use.
  5. We cannot maintain a proper service for other similar reasons.

Where reasonably possible, we will tell you that the feature is limited or stopped.

6. Using or providing personal location information

  1. We use personal location information only after you agree, by enabling location or submitting coordinates during registration or later updates.
  2. We keep records of collection and use as needed to operate billing, handle complaints, and meet legal duties. We retain that operational data for as long as needed for those purposes and at least as described in the Privacy Policy.
  3. We do not sell your precise location. We may show other members a distance or city derived from your location as part of discovery. “Those who are provided” location results are other members who see you in search results based on their filters.
  4. We do not give other members your precise coordinates. A distance or city on a profile is not a reason to contact someone off the Service. We share location with processors only as the Privacy Policy describes, or when the law requires it.
  5. Disputes about these terms follow Article 16 of the Terms of Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you may not bring a class, collective, or representative claim about location features.
  6. Do not share your precise address, phone number, or other personal details with another member because a distance or city label appeared. That choice is yours alone. The Company is not responsible for what happens after you share it.

7. Your rights over location information

  1. You may withdraw consent to location features at any time in device settings or by asking us to remove stored location from your account. After withdrawal we will stop using location for discovery and will delete stored coordinates when they are no longer needed for the Service or the law.
  2. You may ask us to suspend collection or use of location. We will not refuse a valid request and will provide a technical way to do so (for example turning location off or clearing it from your profile).
  3. You may request access to, or correction of:
    1. History of collecting, using, or providing your personal location information that we still hold.
    2. The reason location information was provided to a third party, if that occurred.
  4. Requests under this section can be sent to hello@marrymee.net or made through in-product account settings where available.

8. Age restriction

Marry Mee is only for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect location information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. Location information contact

Questions or complaints about location information can be sent to the team that operates location features:

Email: hello@marrymee.net

10. Liability

Location features are part of the Service. Article 13 (no warranties), Article 14 (limitation of liability), and Article 15 (release and indemnity) of the Terms of Service apply to them. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for how other members use a distance or city label, for any meeting you arrange, or for any phone number, address, bank detail, or other personal information you choose to share.

If you cause loss to the Company by violating these terms, you will indemnify us as set out in the Terms of Service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Escape clause

The Company is not responsible for damage caused by:

  1. Natural disaster or similar force majeure.
  2. Interruption by a third-party partner we use to provide mapping, hosting, or related services, where that interruption is not our fault.
  3. Failure of the Service attributable to you.
  4. Other cases without the Company’s fault.

We do not guarantee that device GPS, network location, or geocoding results are accurate, complete, or current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage caused by that inaccuracy, including a wrong city, country, or distance.

12. Applicable rules and disputes

  1. These terms follow Article 16 of the Terms of Service, including individual claims only, without limiting a mandatory consumer protection the law does not allow us to waive.
  2. Matters not specified here follow the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and applicable law.
  3. If a location-information dispute cannot be resolved with us, you may use any complaint or mediation body available under the privacy or location-information laws that apply to you.
