Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

The operator of Marry Mee (the “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and handles personal information as described here and as required by applicable law. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and the rights you have.

Other members are not the Company. Never send them — or anyone who contacts you because of Marry Mee — your phone number, messaging ID, personal email, home or work address, bank or card details, payment-app details, passwords, one-time codes, or identity documents. We do not control what another person does with information you choose to send, and we are not responsible for fraud or loss that follows.

It applies to marrymee.net and the Marry Mee mobile applications. It should be read with the Terms of Service and the Location-Based Service Terms.

1. Types of information we collect

We collect information you give us, information created while you use the Service, and information from partners you choose to connect.

Required to create and run an account (as you complete each registration step): email address, password or social-login identifiers, name, gender, date of birth, phone number, nationality, native language, languages of interest, relationship status, interests, photos, and location.

Optional profile and lifestyle details, if you add them: about-me text, additional photos, voice introduction, profile prompts, height, occupation, education, religion, communication and socializing style, smoking, drinking, children, pets, zodiac, and marriage intent.

Discovery and privacy settings: age and distance ranges, preferred languages and nationalities, and filters such as verified-only or hide online status.

Usage and device data, to keep the Service stable: visit and activity records, last seen / online status, app language, theme, app version, and a device token for push notifications.

Communications: chat messages, read receipts, likes, matches, blocks, reports, event RSVPs, and notifications we send you.

Verification: a selfie and a photo of an identity document if you request profile verification.

Payments: we do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe, Apple, or Google collect payment details needed to charge you. We store subscription plan, expiry, platform, and transaction identifiers. Depending on the method, processors may handle card, mobile, or store-account data.

2. How we collect your information

  1. The website and mobile apps, including registration, profile editing, chat, and settings.
  2. Google or Facebook login, if you choose those options (we receive identifiers such as name, email, and profile image the provider shares).
  3. Device location you submit or allow, then reverse-geocoded to city and country.
  4. Email (for example password-reset codes) and, when enabled, SMS one-time codes.
  5. Payment providers when you buy a plan or in-app item.
  6. Customer messages you send to hello@marrymee.net or through in-product forms.

We collect personal information only where you provide it or where the Service needs it to function after you agree.

3. Purpose of collection and use

  1. Providing the Service and settling fees — to show profiles, run likes and matches, deliver chat, apply distance filters, process payments, and provide paid features.
  2. Member management — to verify you are 18 or older, distinguish accounts, detect abuse or unauthorized use, limit repeat sign-ups, handle complaints, keep a record for disputes, and send account notices.
  3. Safety — to review reports, operate blocking, review identity-verification submissions, and disable or delete accounts that break the rules.
  4. Product improvement, statistics, and (with your settings) marketing — to understand how the Service is used, measure effectiveness, develop features, and, where allowed, tell you about events or offers. You can control email and push preferences in settings.

4. Where information is transmitted and stored

We do not sell your personal information. We may entrust handling to service providers when that is necessary to run Marry Mee. We require them to use the information only for the assigned task and to keep appropriate security controls.

Providers we use include:

Some providers process data outside your country. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations with contractual and technical safeguards.

5. Use and retention period

We use personal information only for the purposes above. When you delete your account we remove the profile, photos we host, matches, and the user record from the live database. We may still keep information for a limited time if the law requires it — for example transaction, payment, and complaint records.

Typical legal retention examples (where those laws apply):

  1. Records of contracts and withdrawal of offers: up to 5 years.
  2. Records of payment and supply of paid features: up to 5 years.
  3. Records of customer complaints and dispute handling: up to 3 years.

If you disable an account instead of deleting it, we keep the account in a hidden, signed-out state so support can restore it if you ask.

6. Inactive accounts

If you do not use the Service for a long period, we may treat the account as dormant, limit notices, and later delete it under Article 11 of the Terms of Service. We may also expire unused promotional credits. We will try to warn you at the email on file before a dormant-account deletion.

7. How we discard personal information

When the purpose of collection is fulfilled and no legal retention applies, we delete personal information without undue delay.

  1. Electronic records are deleted or overwritten so they cannot be reasonably restored from our live systems.
  2. Paper records, if any, are shredded or otherwise destroyed.
  3. Photos are removed from our object storage when you delete them or delete your account.

8. Accurate personal information

You should keep your profile current. Inaccurate information can make the Service less useful or unsafe. We may remove information that is clearly wrong or that violates these policies.

9. Temporary interruption for protection

We may temporarily interrupt part of the Service if we need to protect personal information or contain a security incident, until the issue is addressed.

10. What you share with other people

Profile fields you choose to show, and messages you send, can be seen by other members as part of the Service. That is not a disclosure by us to an outside company. Other members are independent of the Company. They are not our agents, and we do not promise they will keep anything confidential.

You must not share, and you must not ask anyone else to share:

  1. Phone numbers or messaging IDs such as WhatsApp or Telegram.
  2. Personal email addresses.
  3. Home addresses, workplaces, or a precise location.
  4. Bank account numbers, card numbers, payment-app details, or crypto wallets.
  5. Passwords, one-time codes, or login links.
  6. Identity documents, national ID numbers, passports, or tax numbers.
  7. Requests for money, gifts, or investments.

Marry Mee will never ask for your password, one-time code, or full bank or card details in chat or by an unofficial message. If someone claiming to be a member or a staff member does, it is a scam. Report it and do not send the information. Any personal or financial details you choose to share are at your sole risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for what happens after you share them.

11. Sharing with third parties

We do not provide your personal information to other companies for their own marketing. We share it only:

  1. With other members, to the extent your profile, distance, and messages are meant to be seen on the Service.
  2. With processors listed in section 4, under contract.
  3. When you ask us to, or when the law requires us to respond to a valid legal request.
  4. To protect the Company, members, or the public from serious harm, fraud, or illegal activity.

People who handle personal information must not obtain it by fraud, disclose it without authority, or alter or destroy it beyond what their role allows.

12. Confidentiality

We do not disclose your personal information to unaffiliated third parties without your consent, except as this policy allows. We do not honor informal or unilateral demands from authorities; we respond when a request is made in accordance with applicable law. We do not use your information for unrelated products without asking you first.

13. Cookies and similar technology

The website uses cookies and similar storage (including a language preference cookie) to keep you signed in, remember settings, and understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser; some features may then not work.

14. Your rights

  1. You and, where the law allows, your legal representative may view or correct your information and request account deletion.
  2. You can edit most profile fields in the app or website. You can disable or delete your account in account settings.
  3. You may also write to hello@marrymee.net. We will handle the request without undue delay.
  4. If you ask us to correct an error, we will not use the disputed information (except to complete the correction) until it is fixed. If we already shared the wrong information with a processor, we will ask them to correct it.
  5. Deleted information is handled under section 5 so it is not used for other purposes.

15. Children

Marry Mee is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

16. Personal information contact

Access to personal information inside the Company is limited to staff who need it. For questions, complaints, or requests about privacy, contact:

Email: hello@marrymee.net

You may also contact a data-protection authority in your country if you are not satisfied with our response.

17. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be sent to the email on your account.
